The Mayor of London established Design for London to support the delivery of well-designed projects across London. It uses open procurement and design processes to attract and promote the widest range of design talent.

The small team works alongside existing teams in the Greater London Authority (GLA), the London Development Agency (LDA), Transport for London (TfL) and the London boroughs to complement their own skills in order to achieve as much as possible. Environmental sustainability procurement and design processes to and inclusive design are priorities across the work programme.
